What does the bible have to say?
Colossians 3:23-24
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. "

Okay, so I can be a lazy person. I have a lot of freedom at work and sometimes that is a bad thing. I also hate school work (how ironic the Lord has called me to spend the rest of my life in school).
But as a Christian, when I slack and do a bad job, my Father knows. And how must that make Him feel? He sent me here for a reason. I am here to work for Him and here I am, calling myself a Christian to others, yet not showing it in my work. He must be ashamed. I want to let the glory of my Lord shine through my school work to my professor and show to my boss as well. I want my Father to be proud of me.
It's not just that work. It's His work, too. Sometimes I know what God would want me to do and I just don't do it. Am I that selfish that I can inconvenience myself in order to glorify God? After all He has done for me...
I no longer work for my professors. I no longer work for my boss. I no longer work for the "popular vote." I work for my Lord Jesus Christ.
Done.
